I’m the Cool Mom

We are now 8 weeks into summer vacation. I’m out of ideas for day trips. The delivery drivers from every restaurant within 10 miles know my name. My kids are even getting bored fighting with each other. So I’ve had no choice but to increase the screen time.

My kids have always been allowed screen time, but in a controlled fashion. Before I opened the floodgates for the summer I did a little research, especially about Roblox, which my son is OBSESSED with. As I was reading I came across an interesting new game that not only had a Roblox game, but YouTube videos and suggetions on how to take it offline. Sounded like a win win to me.

Camp Bonkers. Sounded like my house. I checked out the website and had that light bulb moment of finally getting a better understanding of what Roblox actually is! Mic drop for me!

Camp Bonkers allows my kids to play in Roblox, watch camp videos — including game play — on YouTube and visit the website for badge challenges.

Now the true test — introducing this to my kids. I was scared, I was crossing a mom line. Would they want to do something that I suggested or was I about to make something that looked really cool uncool?

Mom win — They loved it! They were shocked that I suggested it and for a brief moment they thought I was just the coolest mom ever.

We’re now a week into playing and it’s transformed our summer. So if your kids are bored and drivng you crazy check out Camp Bonkers and be the cool mom (at least for a minute)

I’m a stay at home mom of a 7 and 9 year old who don’t need me as much anymore, which means I have a lot of time to ponder what I want to be when I grow up.
